The duo has received high praise for their 2009 inaugural effort Beings, which showcases a wide range of moods and compositional styles and features original works by Olga Amelkina-Vera alongside guitar duo works by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco and Astor Piazzolla. Beings was lauded as "outstanding" by the American Record Guide. The duo followed up in 2015 with their second album, Lingua Franca, which features their guitar duo arrangements and transcriptions of music from the Renaissance to the 20th century. The American Record Guide praised Lingua Franca as an example of "state-of-the-art duo playing." Kithara Duo’s most recent recording project is Ka Ao (2022), a Frameworks Records album exclusively focused on Olga’s original works for guitar, to which the duo contributed three recorded compositions.
